New Dawn Awning 24, Hayes Auto Sales 15
Will Myers hit his THIRD home run of the season and drove in 6 runs on the night. That's not a typo. He’s a monster.
New Dawn Awning remained the class of the 60s division with a 24–15 road win over Hayes Auto Sales.
While Myers was busy being absurdly productive, the rest of the New Dawn lineup was doing its thing. Mike Cacy went 4-for-4 with three doubles and 3 RBI — a legitimate doubles clinic. Darrell Rinde went 4-for-4 himself with a double and 3 RBI. Carlos Rodriguez kept his 4-for-4 streak going, adding 2 RBI and Butch Maciel went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles. This lineup is deep, balanced, and flat-out hits.
Hayes Auto Sales had their moments. Michael Kendall went 4 for 4, tripled and drove in 5 runs — the kind of game that should make next week's opposing pitcher nervous. Ettore Minor went 4 for 4 but with zero RBI’s and is now batting .800 on the season, Hayes should figure out how to get someone on base before this machine steps to the plate. Ron Segon added 3 RBI, Julian Gonzalez contributed 3 more, and Hayes showed they can score. Against the right opponent, that lineup is going to do some serious damage.
Just not against New Dawn. Not on this night.
New Dawn Awning improve to 4–0 and remain the only unbeaten team in the 60s. Hayes Auto Sales fall to 1–3.

Realty Management Company 12, Wholesale Outlet 11
Stop everything. Realty Management Company won a game.
In what is inarguably the upset of the young season, Realty Management Company — who entered Tuesday's game with an 0–3 record and zero wins to their name — summoned everything they had and beat Wholesale Outlet 12–11 in a gut-punch of a finish for a team that probably thought it had this one under control.
Realty did it the hard way: with contact, grit, and no individual hero moments — just a lineup that kept putting the ball in play. Greg Goodell went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI. Tom Carbajal went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Marty Bitting went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Mike Holt, Ron Landers, and Rick Cady all chipped in hits and RBI. Nobody hit a home run. Nobody had a grand slam. They just hit the ball, ran the bases, and refused to let Wholesale Outlet pull away.
Wholesale Outlet, meanwhile, left their best stuff at home — a jarring departure for a team that's been one of the more dangerous lineups in the 60s. Paul Supat was the lone bright spot, going 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, and 3 RBI. Rodney Johnson chipped in a pair of doubles and 2 RBI, while Dusty Shaw went 3 for4 and Terry Barrow went 3 for 3. But it wasn't enough on this Cinco de Mayo evening.
Somewhere in Realty's dugout after the final out, there were some very, very relieved softball players. They've been hearing 0-and-3 for two weeks. No more.
Realty Management Company improve to 1–3. Wholesale Outlet fall to 1–2–1.

Efficient Energy 20, Scott's Exterior Property Svc 19
One run. ONE RUN. In a combined 39-run game decided on the final out.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you are a fan of defense and low-scoring pitcher's duels, I regret to inform you that you picked the wrong league. Efficient Energy survived Scott's Exterior in what can only be described as a mutual offensive assault that lasted until someone blinked, and Tuesday night, it was Scott's that blinked — but just barely. Scott’s put up 10 (TEN!) runs in the open inning. WOW.
Greg Blom and Rick Damon were the twin engines that powered Efficient Energy's motor. Blom drove in 5 runs. Damon drove in 5 runs. That's 10 RBI from two players on the same team in the same game, and Efficient Energy still almost didn't survive. Damon added a pair of doubles to go with his damage, and Roy Reid and Steve Smith each chipped in 3 RBI to keep the Efficient Energy offense humming. Jeff Jackson added 2 RBI with a pair of doubles. Ricky Ishimuru had 3 doubles and is now batting .846 on the season. Efficient Energy's lineup is relentless — there is no easy out in that order.
But here's the thing: Scott's was just as relentless. Paul Olson drove in 4. Rick Slama drove in 3. Steve Wilcox drove in 3. Max Nelson drove in 3. Rob Blodgett added 2. Scott Estel chipped in 2 more. Scott's scored 19 runs and even with four hitters perfect at the plate (Kahlor, Slama, Morello, and Estel) — they still lost. You cannot make this up. This game should come with a warning label.
The final out must have felt like the longest moment in recent Efficient Energy history. They survived. Scott's, to their enormous credit, made them sweat until the very end.
Efficient Energy improve to 3–1. Scott's Exterior Property Svc fall to 1–3.

Epic Sports Cards 24, Hunter's Barber 13
A quick note to Hunter's Barber: hitting four home runs is usually enough to win a softball game. Usually.
Epic Sports Cards just looked at those four home runs and said, "Cute. We'll see your four home runs and raise you a Brett Shaffer two-home-run game, a Kenji Kishimoto three-double clinic, and a Steve Phulps demolition job." Final score: 24–13. It wasn't even close.
Let's start with Brett Shaffer, who apparently decided last week's 4-for-4 wasn't enough of a statement. This week, he reached back and launched two home runs, adding 5 RBI in a performance that had the Epic dugout absolutely electric. When the guy who was going quietly 4-for-4 with singles last week starts going deep twice in a game, you know something special is happening. Some might even say it was EPIC.
Kenji Kishimoto may have had the most aesthetically pleasing night of anyone on the field — three doubles and 4 RBI, covering the gaps like he had a GPS for the alleys. Steve Phulps added a home run and 4 RBI, Gil Rodriguez went deep for 4 more RBI, and Joe Johnson — the man is a metronome — went 5-for-5 with 3 RBI. Five for five. The man does not make outs. Jaime Arellano, aka “The Machine”, piled on with four hits including three doubles, setting the table all night.
Epic scored 24 runs. Let that sink in.
Meanwhile, Hunter's Barber did everything right and still got steamrolled. Derek Wilson, Deion Mays, Jeff Kerns, and Chris Allen each homered — four different players going deep in the same game. Dan Berry added a double and 3 RBI. The Hunters' lineup is legitimately dangerous. They've now hit four home runs in a losing effort in back-to-back weeks, which is the most frustrating statistic in recent South Placer memory. Someone please tell them it's okay to load the bases before they go to poundtown.
Epic Sports Cards improve to 3–1. Hunter's Barber fall to 2–2.

Incredible Pets 18, Elite/Onyx 13
Another week, another notch in the belt for the last unbeaten team in the 50s.
Incredible Pets entered Tuesday needing a statement. Elite/Onyx entered Tuesday with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove. And then Mike Surita walked up to the plate with the bases loaded and reduced the chip to sawdust.
Surita's grand slam — yes, another grand slam, this league is absolutely unhinged — gave Incredible Pets the kind of jolt that changes the energy of a game instantly. He finished with a home run, a double, a single, and 5 RBI, which is the kind of stat line that makes opposing pitchers want to rethink their life choices. Jay Zetz went 4 for 4 and added a home run of his own with 2 RBI, and Brian Kelly went 4-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI. Three home runs from three different guys. The Pets are not playing around.
The quietly excellent Glen Weller went a perfect 4-for-4 with 2 RBI, while Shant Hagopian went 3 for 4 and drove in 3 runs like a professional baller. Hagopian always finds a way, he “shant” be denied.
Elite/Onyx refused to roll over. Known by most players as Tiny, Mike Tobin answered the bell with a perfect night at the plate, including a home run, a double, and 5 RBI — a monster night that on most evenings would be more than enough to win. Nothing “tiny” about that man’s game. Chris Fry drove in 3, Pat Williams went deep for another RBI, and Jeff Braskamp added a triple to keep things interesting. Elite had several individual star performances, they just couldn't match the depth of the Pets.
Incredible Pets are 3–0 and haven't lost a game yet. Someone is going to have to take them down. Good luck with that.
Incredible Pets improve to 3–0. Elite/Onyx fall to 2–2.
